Collar-braced frames
Embarrassingly after my rant about collar-braced frames in Mortice and Tenon you have posted two examples that are obviously successful. In this one I thiink I can see how the returns in the walls would act to brace the frames, but that does not seem to be so in the other example. The question then is what detail are you using to connect the braces to posts and principal rafters? And what is the detail between the posts and principals?
