Exterior view, the beautifully moulded doorway arch is formed from two durns; single timbers from bent stock.

Internally each rib has a small groove cut into its edge for planking that would have formed a fully vaulted ceiling hiding the roof frame. Almost all of the boards are now missing.

Amazing carved capitals on top of the shafts. These are carved from the internal face of the posts; no applied mouldings!!

Description & details	This outrageous framed porch dates from the 14th cent. and is remarkable in that it is cut in a style to represent masonry of the decorated period. It has the remains of a vaulted ceiling with spherical boss, moulded durns, lots of mouldings and carving, large fretted window heads and even buttresses!rnrnYou can find more on Simon Knott's excellent site below.
